About Elena
Elena Potthoff is the founder of EGP Tutoring, a boutique tutoring practice based in Miami, Florida. EGP Tutoring works with elementary aged students and uses evidence based practices to support their learning.
Elena taught in New York City private schools, first as a classroom teacher before transitioning to become a learning specialist. She has worked with a diverse group of learners, targeting their individual learning needs through the use of differentiated teaching and materials.
Elena is an experienced Learning Specialist whose mission is to foster a love for learning with each child that she works with.

Initial Consultation & Assessments
During your child's first meeting with Elena, they will spend time getting to know each other and building a relationship. Elena believes that the foundation of learning is built upon a positive student-teacher relationship. Throughout this session, Elena will conduct a series of formal and informal assessments. With input from parents and teachers, learning goals will be created to form the foundation of individualized lesson plans.
Tutoring Sessions
Each session will work to target the student's learning goals in a systematic manner. Sessions will consist of explicit instruction, guided practice and educational games to support their academic growth.
Communication with Parents and Teachers
As tutoring sessions progress, Elena will be in touch with both parents and teachers (as requested) to maintain open and honest communication about the child's learning process. New goals and strategies will be shared as needed.
